Since the last release of Ubuntu, the UI and branding for the splash screen has been updated on other platforms - specifically Windows - so this work will bring the "home platform" of Ubuntu in line with the latest changes. From a UX perspective we need to show a unified experience on Ubuntu One across all platforms, but more importantly it would be detrimental if our own platform carried an older, outdated version than can be seen elsewhere.
