Bug Description

It would be useful to have a Scratch embed filter similar to the one in Moodle http://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=filter_scratch so that students can showcase their Scratch games via a Mahara page

Created something for testing.

Extract attached scratch.zip file into /htdocs/artefact/file/blocktypes/
This should produce scratch subfolder.

Than goto Mahara Administration and install the plugin.

Please test it and report back...
I know there are issues with IE (Applet shows over the block configuraton form!)

This is not yet publically release plugin. It is only for testing.
The version of the plugin is 1.0.0 valentine (although I may missed a day...)

Wow thanks so much for the (belated) Valentine Scratch! I installed it fine and it appears to be going to work - but I am getting stuck on the loading screen, in Chrome and Firefox. Here is an example

For me it doesn't go beyond the Loading - but I don't know if my laptop is missing a setting or a feature??

Just tested this on localhost... maybe this got something to do with it.

Will look into it...

Thanks for feedback, G

Please try this one. Before installing it, please REMOVE htdocs/artefact/file/blocktype/scratch folder completely.

This is still development version for testing only, and it still has problems in MSIE.

Please check, if it displays Scratch project files.

Gregor

Ok - this seems to work better http://www.maharafairy.co.uk/view/view.php?id=82 but there are a few issues - I will give a longer response later and thanks again

Great. :-) Unfortunately, I don't see anything in Firefox 10 on Ubuntu. Chromium tells me that I have a plugin missing but it doesn't say which one. Chrome on Mac asks to run Java and then displays the calculator so that I can use it. Safari and Firefox on Mac load it automatically.

I guess this has to do with webbrowser not loading/having java plugin (Scratch project files are embedded using java applet) - so it is a browser, not a Mahara plugin thing than (I guess?)

Well I am on a Windows 7 laptop and I see it fine in Chrome and Internet Explorer 8. I just downloaded Firefox 10 - my other version was 6 months old and it works there too. So what else can I be testing to help out? Sorry I don't have access to any non-Windows devices - can't afford them! This is the laptop given me by my school.

If it works fine on Windows and different web browsers than it is on Kristina to verify, if it works on Linux (with different web browsers).

This will confirm that this is web browser/java plugin thing and has nothing to do with Scratch plugin itself.

If it works, than I will publically release it...

As it is a Java thing, I think it is my browsers for which I need to install Java. In the ones that already come with Java, it works fine.

I tried to test it in MS IE 8 and 9 but couldn't get it to run though Java was installed on the computer. For some reason, Java was not loaded. :-(
