airplane mode will not shut off

After attempting to install Linux Mint 12 debian 32-bit and also the Linux Mint 12 KDE just recently released, the airplane mode will not shut off and allow wireless to turn on.
Has anyone exprienced this issue?
Is there something I am missing?

I have the same problem. It happened to me right after I downloaded updates. I have had no previous issues with this and have been using Linux Mint 12 - 64 bit for months now. I am assuming that the next updates might fix it, but I am running out of ethernet cables! Maybe my response might help us both out?

I was/am expiriencing the same issue.
What I did was manually unblock the wireless

First use
"rfkill list"

After that I unblocked with
"rfkill unblock ID"

I then rebooted and it worked again. Don't know if this resolves the problem for everyone.
It did for me and I'll never turn off wireless ever again
