i too am getting this issue. i previously had the issue with zeitgeist-daemon using over 200MiB of RAM. tonight i followed a few suggestions of upgrading with the zeitgeist ppa, then found that /usr/share/ zeitgeist/ fts-python/ fts.py was using at least 240MiB of RAM.
i am using Ubuntu 11.10 i386
