Bug Description

When building from the latest compiz tarball with the new ABI, the unityshell plugin top panel is completely transparent - only the shadow of the panel is visible.

Using:
Ubuntu precise (development branch) 12.04
Self-packaged compiz 0.9.7-rc1 and unity 5.2.0-0ubuntu1 with an aditional packaging fix from Didier for using the new compiz ABI

Tested on:
i386
Appears both on an ATI (fglrx driver) and nvidia cards

As already reported to Jay Taoko: when launching ccsm, going to Unity -> Experimental and modifying the Panel Opacity setting (which is set to 1.0 by default on my system) the following results can be seen:

Values 0.0 and 1.0: panel completely transparent, no blurr effect on the background
Values in-between: panel completely transparent, blurr effect on the backround

Changed in compiz (Ubuntu):
assignee: nobody → Canonical Desktop Experience Team (canonical-dx-team)

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, let us know.
