Bug Description
Steps to reproduce:
1) launch inkscape with default new prefs
2) drag two guides to the document so you can see their intersection
3) create any object, such as a rectangle
4) try to drag the rectangle such that its corner snaps to a guide
Expected result:
The object's nodes can be snapped to any guide or guide intersections
Actual result:
No snap targets are detected
When drawing an object such as a rectangle or using the line tool, snap to guides works just fine, but trying to move objects to snap to a guide, this is not working.
Versions affected: Self-compiled Inkscape 0.48+devel r10923
Before I started compiling inkscape from source I was using Inkscape 0.48.1 r9760 from the Ubuntu repository and this problematic behavior was not happening.
System details: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
> Self-compiled Inkscape 0.48+devel r10923
Due to various refactoring of the snap code in current trunk, you need to activate a specific node snap option (e.g. cusp nodes, and/ or smooth nodes) to have nodes snap to guides and grid when using the selection tool (not required when working in the node tool context, or one of the path drawing tools - pencil (freehand) or pen (bezier)).
Not sure whether this can be considered a bug - as far as I understand, it was an intentional change in how snapping works. Possibly you want to change the snap settings in the default template.
