Bug Description
The Scour extensions is what Inkscape uses to render "Optimized SVG." There is a more recent version of the plugin with more options and fewer bugs. It's been around for six months, so I think it's likely stable enough to be tested for inclusion.
Also, I personally think it can be confusing being told that Scour is included in Inkscape, and yet it not be the latest version. I had an SVG that I thought I just couldn't optimize, but it turns out the problem was the old version of Scour included in Inkscape. I installed the latest version of their Inkscape plugin from http://
The file that had this problem is proprietary, and will not be included unless absolutely necessary, and then by request only.

Already updated in the trunk (inkscape 0.49 currently with development status).
Please not that 0.48.x versions are bug fix only. Since the latest Scour version introduced new features and requires new translations, it won't be updated in that branch.
