Bug Description

I created a blend file with a title animation. I would like to know how to include it in openshot. How to deal with the python stuff ;-)

I've attached my blend file. All is packed inside. Duration is 300 frames.

It was made with blender 2.61

Hi ian57,
Thanks a lot .
We are aware of your work and have seen your video on Youtube. Great work/job.
I have push in the next milestone same if it will be not include in this one (elle sortiera demain pour nous)
We will take a look at your files and if all is okay (or just need some few modifications) she 'll be in the future milestone.
You could follow this progression using oour Daily PPA if you are interested.

Hi Cenwen,

You speak french? ;-) cool

In fact, I would like to learn how to integrate blend title in openshot. But, when I saw the /usr/share/pyshared/openshot/blender/ stuff... It seems to complicated to me( too newbie in python). So I was wondering if there was a minimal howto explaning how this all scripts are working : variable name for the different text area, color and so one. Is there some guidelines to prepare blend file in ordre to alow quicker integration ....

lots of questions... sorry

Have an nice Sunday ;-) (it's snowing in France)

Unfortunately, no. The best solution is to study those which are already present. And the only person who xa

Sorry a keyboard error :-( I am on my laptop.

only person who can give you an answer is Jonathan. It is alone to know Blender, unfortunately, neither Andy, Mael and me know .....Blender. And it is the reason why the Title Creator animated 3 D is his own creation and only him can answer you at your questions. it is difficult for the other members of the team to answer you like we don't use Blender.

On another side, that's right that I should create some How To for people who would like create some new themes, transitions, effects, titles.
I should think and find the time to do that.

I have not take a look at your files and we 'll speak soon of this kind of problem that you have had and see if we can do something.
S'il y a un probleme en particulier, cela ne me pose aucun probleme de me contacter en privé.

Ok thanks for all the informations... I'm going to "study" the scripts ... may take some time surely... but, it'simportant to understand all the processing... and peharps finally make a tutorial ;-)

Thanks for submitting the .blend file! I took a look and it's very cool, but the biggest problem I see is that the duration is 300 frames. It goes very fast, taking just 10 seconds (or so). Any chance you could increase the length in frames? Also, what frame-rate is this supposed to run at?

In the YouTube video of this animation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuQalKYgfoc), it goes much slower.

Thanks!

Yes i reduce a lot the number of frames in order to reduce the computing time. In the video, the complete opening is 2232 frames long at 24 frames/s... and it takes very long time to compute in HD. That's why i reduced the frames number.

But i can make another blend file with the original animation if you want.

Peharps we can find an intermediate lenght with a reduce frame rate with a good animation result? I'm going to look at your blend file and make some tests.

Some comments about my file : I need to change the "Stawars Title" because it's a mesh and not text. I have a StarWars font... i'm going to modify the blend file and post it here.

Yop, here is an almost final version : all is text, only one paragraphe (easier for openshot integration), 1116 frames with a 12 fps rate

I hope you will like my text :-)

Wait a couple of hour.... i'm going to post the "really" final version... sorry for all these posts....

A question : can you explain me how openshot interacts with blender, how your create the openshot frontend for configuring the parameters of the blender title... which files, xml, python (surely).

Hi Ian (again),
This animation would also be great to include in 1.4.3, but also needs to be adapted to our XML / Python OpenShot format before we can add it. Also, I think we should rename it to something more generic, so we don't step on any copyright issues, like "Space Movie Intro", or something like that. =) Thanks!

Sure, for copyright, you're right. Be free to change the name : Space Movie Intro" is a good name for me. For now, I have no time to do the XML stuff for integration, Sorry.

Here is my third animated title :-).

It took me a long time to post here (although this title was easier to produce than the explode one) because of a blender bug.

The bug is made of a combination of animation between layers, location animation, and Openshot which calculate only one frame for preview. The results was that my "StarWars" flying title, at the start of the animation" seems not to move in the preview mode, but, when rendering all the frames, it works well.

One remark more : this animated title is only made for 16/9 ratio rendering.

Thanks again Yann for the great animated title. I made a few changes to the XML file, and added a new "multiline" widget, to improve long text fields. This has been committed now.
