Bug Description

At least copy, paste, cut, undo and redo don't react on their respective keyboard shortcuts, others do like expand or close tab. After changing respective shortcuts to something silly, they work. Unsetting them doesn't help anything. Persists in both MATE (GNOME 2 fork) and KDE.

Fixed in debian with 1.9.0.1-2.
Sync to Ubuntu follows, as it does affect Precise too. (ScottK is about to fix Precise's qscintilla2 in the next days).
