Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Please answer these questions:

* Is this reproducible?
* If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?

This will help us to find and resolve the problem.

I cannot reproduce it with your steps, and lp is having an 'off-day' so I
cannot comment on the bug.

please re-set it to live if someone else has same problem.

Regards,

Phill.

I can confirm this bug.

If the pcmanfm is closed clicking on the "x" on the top-right corner, there's no problem and clicking on a desktop folder will open a new pcmanfm window.

if the pcmanfm window is closed with CTRL-W, then pcmanfm does not open when clicking a desktop folder.

I notice this bug is no longer present in Lubuntu 13.04 (which comes with pcmanfm 1.1.0-0ubuntu2).
I guess this got fixed in the new pcmanfm, and this bug report can probably be closed now.
