Bug Description
This applies to my 11.10 with the latest proposed updates as of 22/12/2011
In the "Expo" view for the viewport switcher of Compiz (desktop wall display) you can drag windows via mouse to different viewports.
When moving the mouse to the edges of the screen while "holding" a window the orange resize overlay box is displayed. This will work for the left and right edges and place the dragged window in either half of the selected new workspace. It will not work for the top edge of the screen to maximize the window.
The workspaces are selected when the mouse moves over the representation in the desktop wall. I use 6 workspaces in 3x2 columns so the window will only resize on either the first, third, fourth or sixth workspace (since those are the left or rightmost workspaces in the top / bottom column).
Either the resize overlay should not be displayed at all while desktop wall is displayed or have some consistent functionality that I can actively select ANY desired workspace and place a properly resized window on it (this includes the now non-functional maximize).

I can confirm this on 11.10 and 12.04. One can snap-maximize on 12.04 now. Really, this should just be disabled.
