Bug Description

Swedish language package for Ubuntu 10.04 missing some dependencies. Here is the language packs that I can not install due to missing dependencies of

language-pack-gnome-sv 1:10.04+20110930
language-pack-gnome-sv-base 1:10.04+20110204
language-pack-sv-base 1:10.04+20110204

I think it would be good if the problem can be prioritized because I've seen a number of people writing about the problem on Swedish Ubuntu forums and the problem doesn't give a very good impression of the Ubuntu operating system. People who are doing new installations of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS get much text in English instead of Swedish since the packets can't be installed. Even for people who already have 10.04 LTS installed since earlier (like myself), and therefore already have older versions of the Swedish language packs installed, it doesn't give a very good impression that Update Manager and Synaptic show that there are updates of the packets available but that they can't be installed due to missing dependencies.

It,s no use for a swedish to use Ubuntu 10.04 if you cant get the swedish language.
So it,s time that you do something about it!
Otherwise, I will leave Ubuntu and go over to Linux Mint.
There it,s working.

This affects me too. I've been trying on my own for weeks now but I can't fix it. As 11.10 is such a disapointing release I need the old and reliable 10.04 to work!

Hi,

I'm the maintainer of the Swedish package in Debian. Swedish is the name of the Swedish dictionary in Debian and Ubuntu inherits from Debian so I guess I'm the maintainer (or co-maintainer) of Swedish in Ubuntu too.

I'm interested in closing bugs in Swedish, but to place my priorities in the right place, I need to know if this bug is still open. If you receive this email I'd be grateful if you mentioned that this is still a problem or not as the case may be.

Thanks,

Jeremiah

Hi!
I think it was solved but I'm not 100% sure due to my computers recent dead
:( Had to move on to 12.04, sadly enough.
In my personnel opinion 10.04 should be mantained for ever, it was the best
distribution ever so I wish everybody had stopped and said: "Hey, this is
it! Let's put all our energy Lucid Lynx, nearly perfect as it is"...
Regards
Erika
