Bug Description
Because the OS detection is hard-wired into tree.c, it needs updating to recognise OSes since 2006. Windows Vista and 7 have been added to the repository version, but other new ones exist :)

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
If upstream has stagnated and there is a different source which has continued development, it sounds like it might be an idea to switch. But this would be better coming from Debian so that the delta to Ubuntu can stay manageable, particularly since this package is in universe.
Thus I'm marking the Ubuntu task as Importance: Wishlist. To take this further, you could file a bug against analog in Debian, and if fixed there it will filter through in the next merge.
Alternatively, if you can provide a small patch for the particular functionality you need, then Ubuntu might be able to carry that patch, given that it is already carrying the Vista+7 detection patch (but note that I can't make that decision).
