CD drive locked while restarting Feisty

Bug Description
Feisty Herd 4 and Herd 5 X86_64
When restarting a liveCD session, or restarting into the freshly-installed system, theCD fails to eject as earlier releases did.
I'm left with a message on the screen that tells me to remove the CD and press enter.
When I press the CD tray eject button, nothing happens, apparently the drive is still locked.
I press enter, and while the BIOS POST routine is executing, I can open the CD drawer just in time to have the system boot from the HDD instead.
