Bug Description
I did fresh install to my laptop today (11.10 i386) and run all the updates. Just after removing Acer AOD250 from external display connection (on-the-fly without first disabling ext display) the GPU locks up (blank screen, just cursor showing up). I did ssh login and system seems to be running just fine - but dmesg list shows that GPU is locked up.

For GPU lockup bugs with Intel graphics, you need to collect the output of 'dmesg' and your /sys/kernel/ debug/dri/ 0/i915_ error_state file. Both of these must be collected while the machine is locked up (e.g. by sshing into the sick machine over ethernet). See https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/X/Troublesh ooting/ Freeze for additional info.
