published date column saving wrong month

In the main interface, when I manually enter a month into the 'published' column (for example, "Mar") what is saved is the previous month ("Feb"). I am only seeing this in the column view, in 'Edit Metadata' window everything seems to work fine.

I'm in the pacific Time Zone (west coast of the US, Zone -8)

An addition to my comment that the system would not let me add after I posted the bug, is that this problem only manifests itself in a library that is on an external drive, but does not manifest itself on the c: drive.

I cannot repeat this problem, so I don't know if the fix will actually fix it. My assumption is that the library on the external disk was created in a different timezone than you are currently in. Although I have tried to recreate a problem based on this, I have failed, but it is the only explanation I can think of.

The only difference I can find between metadata edit and editing on the GUI is that metadata edit converts the dateTime to localtime before working on it. This does not change what is displayed, but might change how the date is later converted. I changed the GUI to also convert dateTimes to localtime before displaying them.

Fixed in branch lp:calibre. The fix will be in the next release. calibre is usually released every Friday.
