Maybe it is a setup problem. Icons are missing. Copying images folder in /usr/share/pomodoro-indicator/pomodoro seems to solve the problem

Marco De Paoli (depaolim): Thanks for tip, it works fine.

Where isn't folder 'images' in 0.0.2 version, only in 0.0.1.

I am having the same problem. There is no images directory that I can find. Please advise

Check out the trunk sources via bazar. Images folder is located in "pomodoro" folder

Know if there's a way to get those files without downloading bazaar?

Marco De Paoli (depaolim) wrote :

You can try to download each file from http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~pomodoro-devs/pomodoro-indicator/trunk/files/head:/pomodoro/images/ and recreate the images folder

I recreated the images folder and copied it /usr/share/pomodoro-indicator/pomodoro
But after running the pomodoro-indicator command, I still do not see the applet.

I'm running Ubuntu 11.10 unity desktop

The cause for the missing image files seems to be that in file setup.py, the line 112 declaring the images as resources to be copied is commented out, hence the missing images. Attached is a patched. Marco, what do you think ?

PS: Marco, the commenting of that line in setup.py comes from revision 22 on September 27th, bearing comment "merge with mtrov setup.py system". Sorry, I'm not familiar enough with the codebase and with setup.py to know to which extend uncommenting this line may have side-effects.

It works! Good job Julien. I suggest including Julien patch to main trunk. (I don't know why the line was commented and I'm not aware of side-effects)

It looks like the proposed tar.gz file does not include any pictures. I'm not sure how the tarball had been generated.

Grabbing it from source seems to work, so it's a packaging problem only. You may want to have a look at MANIFEST.in files (http://docs.python.org/distutils/sourcedist.html). then there is two ways to install the non python static files on the FS. Either by using pkgutil (http://docs.python.org/library/pkgutil.html) or by putting them (and accessing to them in the code) relatively to some file (using __file__ + os.abspath)

I generqted the tarball. I'll check this week in order to fix the problem.

It's my fault, I did't have the time to sit a few minutes to create the
tarball. If anyone wants to do that I can grant some permissions. If no,
I'll try to work on that as soon as posible.

I also had to get the images from 0.1. Otherwise it is a great program. Could you make it complete? :)

Bump :)

I looked into doing this but wasn't sure what files should go into the tar ball. If you let me know, I'll put one together from the sources, and write a script to do it in future.

This bug's already fixed in pomodoro-indicator v0.1.0 for Ubuntu 14.04LTS from Atreao PPA (ppa:atareao/atareao ). Besides, Ubuntu 11.10's been EOL (lifespan is over) since 3 years, so this bug reports's not valid now anyway. The current version of pomodoro-indicator has indicator icons that suit both dark and light panels and is so properly visible. So, I'm marking this bug as "Fix Released".
