Bug Description

ubuntu 11.10 32 bit

Description of the problem:
I have opened firefox and I am in a website where there's an image somewhere. I Drag the Image and the whole window stacks for 2 seconds, after this the launcher shows himself and has highlighted the program(s) with which I can open the dragged image (e.g. Gimp, Shutter, Firefox etc) .

I assume that the launcher searches the .desktop files each time so as to detect the corresponding MimeTypes, so that's why it is so slow.
Maybe, a good solution is to load the MimeTypes of each .desktop file in memory and access the memory each time there's a drag'en'drop event and not the .desktop files...

It's not correct... launcher searches the .desktop file just after the login and as soon as a new icon is added using and idle function.

Launcher searches the .desktop files just after the login and as soon as a new icon has been added. Launcher uses an idle function to get the MimeTypes...
