Description of the problem:
I have opened firefox and I am in a website where there's an image somewhere. I Drag the Image and the whole window stacks for 2 seconds, after this the launcher shows himself and has highlight the program with which I can open the dragged image (e.g. Gimp, Shutter, Firefox etc) .
I assume that the launcher does search the .desktop files each time so as to detect the corresponding MimeTypes, so that's why it is so slow.
Maybe, a good solution is to load the MimeTypes of each .desktop file in memory and access the memory each time there's a drag'en'drop event and not the file... |
