Bug Description

GNOME Terminal 2.32.1, Ubuntu 11.04

I'll admit, it's hard to see the gaps at size 12.

Appearance Preferences > Fonts > Rendering: Subpixel smoothing (LCDs)

This is mutually exclusive with bug 827641, requesting space for easier counting of underscore characters.

Conrad: thank you for the report. There is another bug open that the underscores /shouldn't/ be touching, so we need to look at those as a whole since one request is mutually exclusive with the other.

It's entirely possible that the current width of the '_' underscore is such that it's the least-worst solution for everyone.
