Bug Description
Running Inkscape version 0.48.1 binary on OS X 10.6.8, the program will hang any time CMD-` is used to switch between two Inkscape windows. It will not crash as such, nothing gets logged to gdm or the Console, but all Inkscape windows are frozen. X11 is not affected by this crash, and can be quit with the Inkscape windows still open, but Inkscape remains completely unresponsive until restarted. It is obviously possible to switch windows in other ways, but I'm so used to using CMD-` that I periodically forget, and have to hope that I saved all my changes before I did so.

JFYI: latest stable bug-fix release is 0.48.2

'Cmd-`' is not an Inkscape keyboard shortcut: if you have "Enable key equivalents under X11" (X11 Preferences > Input) enabled, the keyboard shortcut acts on X11/OS X system level (the command does not get passed through to Inkscape in this case). If you disabled key equivalents under X11, Inkscape should no hang either: it doesn't do anything with the 'Cmd' modifier, and the '`' (back-tick) is 'Zoom previous' (assuming you have an 'en_US' keyboard layout): <http:// inkscape. org/doc/ keys048. html#d0e868>.
Inkscape's command to switch between windows opened from the same instance is 'Ctrl+Tab'.
Seems like a (still unsolved or returned) upstream issue with X11/Xquartz: xquartz. macosforge. org/trac/ ticket/ 370> xquartz. macosforge. org/trac/ ticket/ 371> xquartz. macosforge. org/trac/ ticket/ 380>
