Bug Description

Previous installation of Ubuntu 11:04 went crazy, maybe with Docky. Couldn' t find out what was wrong; had nothing but Docky without compositing. A few minutes after booting, the negligible cursor could find the Docky icons bottom of page. There was no panel, no nothing. From there, i managed somehow through tiny Firefox window to open terminal and open Synaptic Pkg Mgr to update in preparation for this installation that is in process now from downloaded CD, burned and media checked.

But after the Pkg Mgr upgrade, the computer booted into my desktop photo with absolutely nothing else. No panel, no Docky which i had removed, no icons, no mouse cursor.

So i was just trying out Ubuntu 11.10 from CD, in hopes i could at least get a History from Ubuntu Software Centre of what to replace, because this is an 80GB /home partition, and it was rich. And then came notification to report problem. Fine. But the problem is in the underlying state after an upgrade some months ago.

One thing was very gratifying. I had same Ubuntu installation on two partitions, so everything was fairly smooth when the one went caput.

Thank you blessed beings, for this Community love.

After aforementioned upgrade, neither did the recovery mode help or change
matters, nor did the keyboard work. It wasn't just the mouse. Could not get
a terminal.

Thank you.

The *only Certainty*...is *your Consciousness*...Everything else could be
imaginary. There is no external God, only this universally intro-active
Consciousness, God and you differenceless.
