Bug Description
I installed ubuntu oneiric ocelot from scratch (the option in the installer to replace the current ubuntu version.) Installing went fine (no problems reported.) But the system never totally booted after installing it. After some seconds, the (empty) purple screen appairs, and thereafter a text screen with some lines (I will attach a screen shot), and then nothing happens. I can only reboot from there using ctrl-alt-delete.
By using the the safe mode to boot, I was able to reach the command line. I used apt-get to do the available upgrades. That made no difference to the above.
Does anyone else experience this?
Does anyone know the solution?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. While we appreciate the difficulties you are facing, it would appear that the CD image (ISO file) you downloaded could be corrupt. There is an easy way to verify the integrity of the Ubuntu ISO files you download. Could you please visit https:/ /help.ubuntu. com/community/ HowToMD5SUM follow the instructions and report back as to whether or not the MD5SUM verified? Thanks in advance.
Also please tell if the live session works regularry, if works, run again the installation from it, at the end don't reboot, but attach here using the button below 'Add attachment or patch' the files in /var/log/installer
Thanks
