Bug Description
In both meta-gnome2 (up to Natty) and meta-gnome3 (Oneric and beyond) gnome-core Depends on desktop-base. This is undesirable for an Ubuntu system, because it configures Debian-oriented GRUB2 and GNOME themes as global defaults.
