Bug Description

If installing Ubuntu using Simplified Chinese as the default language, it has been discovered that the Power Settings tool inside of System Settings is not fully translated.

On a laptop the phrase "When the lid is closed" is still in English. The rest of the tool appears to be properly translated.

To reproduce:
Make sure this is done on a laptop so the issue can be clearly seen.

1) Install 11.10 using Simplified Chinese as the default language. Ensure all language packs are installed for zh_CN
2) Open up the Power Preferences either via system settings or the panel applet in Unity.

Actual results:
The phrase "When the lid is closed" is still in English.

Expected results:
The phrase should be translated to Simplified Chinese.

When is the next language pack for Simplified Chinese set to go out for 11.10? I tried this out today with a fully updated system with Simplified Chinese as the default language and the "when the lid is closed" option is still not translated.

Thanks!

Hi Kent

Schedule for language pack updates is available at [0]. Last one for Oneiric was a week ago.

In order to have an update released, someone from the given language team should give it a light test and indicate on the wiki page[1] that the system still looks good after installing it. The Chinese team did not do this.

Kent, would you or someone from your team be able to test the Simplified
Chinese language pack and provide a signoff as per the instructions on
the wiki page?

This way we could then release it to the public with the updated
translations.

Cheers,
David.

Hi David and Gabor,

I found the problem. The udpated language pack for Simplified Chinese is still in -proposed, while I was looking for it in -updates.

When I tested the language pack from -proposed (which is indeed from last week), the power management tool is now fully translated.

Thanks!
