Bug Description
During Oneiric cert testing on a Latitude E6510, I attempted to turn wireless off and on using the slider switch. This system does not appear to have a wireless soft switch like some systems, so the physical switch is the only option, thus, this is a blocker for certification.
Sliding the switch off and on does indeed turn wireless off, but wireless never comes back on after that. nm applet simply says Device Not Ready in the wireless status. rfkill shows that blocks are removed.
Here's rfkill with the slider switch in the off position:
ubuntu@
0: dell-wifi: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: yes
1: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: yes
And here's rfkill after sliding the switch back to the ON position:
ubuntu@
0: dell-wifi: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
1: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no

Looks like the same issue as bug 887834.
@Jeff
Can you try the network-manager package in -proposed?
