Bug Description

Binary package hint: monodevelop

Version 0.13 has been released with lots of interesting changes, like the introduction of function-call tooltips for autocompletion.

It would be great to have for Feisty.

Sebastian, any progress on this? We're way past UVF, and approaching release.

Hi - Yes please - Can we get this added to the repository. We really need 0.13 to use monodevelop seriously.

0.13 was released past UVF and the changes are far too large and intrusive, there are many new features, etc so I'll wait for after feisty release.

After looking over the package in more detail, I strongly agree with Sebastian.

Our existing stetic package does not work with this new monodevelop, so we'd need to update Stetic to the latest version too, or hackishly ship binary stetic modules in Monodevelop 0.13 itself.

All of this is not worth the chances of regression. When Feisty+1 opens, I'd be happy to backport 0.13 into Feisty.

I have made some highly at-your-own-risk debs available at:
http://web.mit.edu/~jdong/www/bittorrent/

This is just 0.13 sources against 0.12 packaging, with overridden stetic.dll from monodevelop upstream source tarballs. I am using it and it works fine, but I offer absolutely no guarantee about its safety.

Debian Unstable has those packages. All dependencies of that package are met in Feisty. I think it can be included in Feisty. Please try it and if you are happy, merge it with debian/unstable. Thank you.

Pedro, we're a week away from release. This isn't going to happen for Feisty.
