network looks disabled, but the connection works

Bug Description

As you can see in the screenshot, network manager thinks I have no connection, but I'm connected to the WiFi right now (both Firefox and ifconfig agree on that).
If it is a kernel bug, it might be related to another bug I'm having: https://launchpad.net/bugs/867964

And since I've had this bug, update-manager have been unable to update and upgrade (fails instantly without notification).
