Ubuntu mono various cyrillic letters density

Letters such as "ы" and "м" have greater density than other ones, while "к", "с", "а" are less condensed ones.
Take a look at the example attached. In the first example "ка" is a very dispersed part, while "зыв" in the first example and "имым" in the second are overcondensed.

And in this font cyrillic letters themselves a bit more dense than latin ones.

Vsevolod, thanks for this well-illustrated report, and sorry for the years-long delay.

Unfortunately, not being a reader of a Cyrillic language, I can't tell what you mean by "density". In any monospace font, characters that are naturally wider will be condensed more than characters that are naturally narrower.

Based on your screenshot, Ubuntu Mono chooses a narrower width than Terminus does, so the compression of naturally-wider characters is more acute. This couldn't be changed without redrawing every character in Ubuntu Mono.

If you can compare sizes such that the *width* of Ubuntu Mono is the same as in Terminus, and the Ubuntu Mono characters still look over-condensed or over-varied, please reopen this report.

They do have the same width.
With Gimp I made another example (in attachment), so you can compare Ubuntu Mono 96 with Terminus 96. Each letter has width = 48px

By density I myself consider something like "the amount of letter pixels in letter square". If it is too high, the text becomes unreadable in most cases.
