I have had a similar problem over HTTPS with flash player 8/9.

After browsing the adobe forums the problem seam's to be, and i quote here ............

There is a Flash-Player-and-Firefox issue with putting ":443" in the url. For standard http port 80 and https port 443, when Firefox returns policy files to the player, unfortunately Firefox strips off the port from the url, which causes Flash Player to think that the incorrect policy file was returned (as the returned url does not exactly match what Flash Player wanted), so the file upload will not be permitted.

After seeing few videos in www.youtube.com, Firefox always crashes. It usually goes through the first video fine, but later it will fail.

I also see this crash repeatedly. One place to guarantee reproducibility is the broadband speed test at http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/. FF crahses at the conclusion of the upload test EVERY TIME.

I cannot tell, I do not have Firefox anymore. The last time I used it, it crashed once in a while when I was seeing videos in YouTube.

We are going to close this bug report in what respects to firefox because it looks that it was caused by adobe's flashplugin-nonfree which we can do anything about it, since it is closed source. You might want to report it upstream directly.

Just in case this is still an issue for you, notice that you are not using ubuntu's packaged flash plugin (package flashplugin-nonfree) I recommend you to migrate to the packaged version. It might not prevent those crashes, but the plugin will be always up-to-date by apt the way the other apps are.
