task 'Ubuntu Desktop USB' doesn't install a working desktop environment

2. On the task selection select 'Ubuntu Desktop USB' and proceed with the installation

Result
Only 500 packages or so are downloaded and installed and the resulting environment is not a Ubuntu Desktop

I suspect that the right fix for this is to add "Task-Seeds: desktop-common desktop" to the usb seed so that the ubuntu-usb task ends up with all the desktop packages duplicated into it. This will bloat the Packages file a bit, but it can't really be helped at the moment.
