Hi,

Plugins for HPLIP are uploaded at http://www.openprinting.org website, which is unfortunately down due to an unexpected issue. Since the webserver is not available, installation of plugins is failing. We will get back to you once we make alternative arrangements for accessing the plugins.

If the cause of the error documented above is due to the website being down then this is incorrect, I have been trying to resolve this issue for over a fortnight and I have been getting the same error.

Why does the plugin have to be downloaded by hp-setup from the server in the first place? Why can this not be distributed via simple HTTP/FTP download from sourceforge?

If verification/authentication is an issue why not do what is standard practice and provide MD5 hashes?

Why are the plugins only available from openprinting.org and only available to download via the hp-setup programme? This does not make sense and reflects a lack of foresight in distributing software. This is a printing plugin and has NOTHING to do with the security breaches that are cited as the cause for bringing down the websites.

I'm with David! The software does allow you to browse for the driver locally, but that doesn't do much good when it's only available to download from ONE site! This seems poorly thought out at best.

So... if I'm getting the above error code, is it because of the openprinters.org security breach? Is there seriously no mirror for these files???

Thanks,
Billy

Hi Adilson,

If possible please update your HPLIP to 3.11.7.
As we are providing a temporary solution for plug-in download issue we will not be able to provide older versions of plug-ins.

Hope you understand the concern

Sorry for the inconvenience caused

Thank you so much for using HPLIP

@Roberto Carlos Ruiz: Thank you! Unfortunately, as part of my diagnosis/fix, I had installed HPLIP 3.11.10, and the plugin you uploaded was for 3.11.7.

I could revert to 3.11.7, but is a plugin for the M1212nf available for 3.11.10, please?

All my search results have come back to the http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/plugin_download.html URL which is, of course, down ("page not found"). I can't find the plugin file anywhere I've searched.

What I've searched for:

"hplip-3.11.1-plugin.run"
"hplip-3.11.10-plugin.run"
"hplip 3.11.10 plugins download"

I'm sorry, my Googling skills don't seem to be up to par this evening. I cannot find the 3.11.10 plugins anywhere else but the site that is gone. I can find the installer for HPLIP itself, but every reference to the plugins points to the http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/plugin_download.html site, and I get a "page not found" error.

Please, can you (or someone) provide me with a link, or what Google criteria you used to find the file so quickly?

Thank you.

If you are using Hplip-3.11.7, the plugin is in
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/plugin/hplip-3.11.7-plugin.tar
After download and decompress it, you install manually with then Hp
