Rationale: "ttf-nanum" replaces "ttf-unfontt-core" currently support and promises higher quality, so that we can drop the old package from the supported set.
"ttf-nanum" is set of Korean fonts(NanumGoth
"ttf-nanum-coding" is Korean monospace font and it provide monospaced ttf-nanum(
Security: These include only fonts files and fontconfig settings. Of course there's no known security problems.
Quality assurance:
"ttf-nanum" and "ttf-nanum-coding" do not ask any debconf questions.

"ttf-nanum" and "ttf-nanum-coding" are maintained well in Debian.
"ttf-nanum" and "ttf-nanum-coding" don't deal with exotic hardware which we cannot support.
UI standards: (not user-facing applications)
Dependencies: (no dependencies)
Standards compliance: "ttf-nanum" and "ttf-nanum-coding" meet the FHS and Debian Policy standards.
Maintenance: "ttf-nanum" and "ttf-nanum-coding" are simple fonts packages so these might not need very much maintenance effort.
And these are maintained well in Debian so we can just keep them synced.
Background information:
For a long time, Unfonts are default Korean fonts at Linux distros.
But it looks blur to some people and thus, they install non-free fonts manually.
At 2008, a new free Korean font, Nanum came with OFL license(free license).
And, Nanum family fonts are having much better quility than Un family's.
As the result, Mac OS 10.7(codename Lion) and ChromeOS decide to include Nanum fonts.
The Ubuntu Korea Community started to discuss about changing default Korean fonts at May 2010 by using forum, mailing, Facebook, and so on.

Today, lots of Korean users want to use Nanum as default Korean fonts.
One problem is package "ttf-nanum"'s fontconfig settings.
It's because there's workaround code for Debian and these are duplicated.
For more details, see LP: #835304.
Also "ttf-nanum-coding" make problem with few programs.
But it works well with most programs and with every programs installed default in Ubuntu.
For more details, see LP: #881768.
Actually, this is not a critical bug, but it will be better to included in main after it fixed.

Approved from a packaging/MIR perspective (but note archive admins, that this isn't needed for Oneiric, but P).
I see in bug 836430 that Colin says it's too late (past Feature Freeze) for Oneiric. But for P, you should re-open that bug and this bug again in case it hasn't been promoted yet!
Also, it looks like bug 835304 got assigned to ~ubuntu- cjk-testers, so if you can prod them to comment in that bug that they've tested it, I'll gladly upload that fix (I can't verify it myself, since I'm not a CJK person).
