Bug Description

Kubuntu 11.04 installer crashed halfway through install process leaving me with unusable system (grub was broken as a result and couldn't even boot up windows). I went back a version and tried Kubuntu 10.04 LTS. Same thing. Install fails about halfway through install process leaving me with a big doorstop.

Fix: Installed Mageia linux instead as Ubuntu (and Kubuntu) both failed to install.
