I'm being affected by this bug, but it only appeared since upgrading to 12.04. Any of the original reporters still having the same issue? It occurs in chromium too so it should be something related to java or probably flash

OK, after some tests, it's related directly to flash.

with Shockwave Flash 11.2 r202 is not working.

with Shockwave Flash 11.5 r31 works flawlessly.

So this is not a bug in firefox, and I'd say that neither in Ubuntu.

Changed in firefox (Ubuntu):
status: Confirmed → Invalid

Fedora won't solve the issue. The current workaround is to use Google Chrome which uses the pepper API which is the only way supported to get latest flash on Linux.

Sadly for us - and for firefox - Adobe dropped almost a year ago flash for linux. See http://blogs.adobe.com/flashplayer/2012/02/adobe-and-google-partnering-for-flash-player-on-linux.html

Just to further document the issue I'm attaching a screenshoot with the current error observed with latest Ubuntu and Firefox

Maybe someone would find this useful.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting TD Ameritrade. I am sorry, but we have not been able to get Trade Architect to work on Firefox for Linux. As you are probably aware, Adobe does not support Flash for Linux, so there are issues. We have had good luck with Google Chrome, not Chromium, on Linux. You can download it from the Google Website. It has its own built in version of Flash and tends to work well with Trade Architect.

Sincerely,
