Bug Description

Upon logging in to an 11.10 installation on a desktop with an Intel integrated graphics card after the Beta update, I get a black screen and end up having to use Unity 2D instead of the Compiz-based Unity.

Update: It seems as though Unity won't minimize beyond 1366x768 without freezing and never starting again.

Just to clarify the "Confirmed" status ... I'm about 99.9% sure I am experiencing this too. I was definitely fiddling with the dash minimise just before I restarted and now unity won't start. I've tried deleting various compiz/unity related config directories and restarting X, gconfd, etc but, so far, nothing has helped.

I can reproduce this bug 100% with trunk on my netbook 1024*600 resolutions. Unity wont start at all after that.

This should be fixed with the fixes in trunk to prevent Unity from going into a infinite layout loop at some sizes.
