Bug Description
Binary package hint: konqueror
To reproduce:
- Open konqueror file manager
- Set the view mode to 'detailed list view'. In my configuration (which may not be the default) this shows the following 8 columns (left to right): Name, Size, File type, Modified, Owner, Group, Permissions, Link.
- Configure the width of these columns to your liking.
- Save the (default) view profile "file management" with above settings.
- Change the view mode to 'info list view' (just for the occasion, without saving the view profile); the number of columns and their names now change to include information about the files in the directory being viewed, and the width of columns is automatically changed from the width previously configured in the 'detailed list view'.
- Change the column order in this 'info list view' view by moving one of the first eight [*] columns to the left, for example move the 6th column to the position of the 2nd column. Don't save the view profile.
- Restart konqueror.
After restarting, konqueror (as expected) will start with the default view profile of 'detailed list view', but unfortunately with a changed column order according to the changes previously made when using the 'info list view' view mode. Additionally, the width of the various columns remains as it was automatically set in 'info list view'.
This behaviour is unexpected and unwanted; such changes should remain limited to their own view mode since these columns have different meanings and require different widths in the various view modes.
Interestingly, Bug #83277 seems to describe pretty much the opposite behaviour.
[*] Moving columns whose position is beyond the number of columns that exist in the default view (in this example, the 9th and further columns) seems to have no effect on column order after application restart.
