Bug Description

Binary package hint: konqueror

Let's say I'm browing music in "info list view". Konqueror helpfully provides me with a ton of metadata about the mp3s, including album name, artist, length, etc. Let's say "length" is the most important column to me, so I drag it all the way to the left. Now, I close konqueror, reopen it, and go back to the folder of mp3s...the "length" column is now back where it was originally...in other words, the change I made before was not persisted.

If I am understanding the problem correctly, I can confirm this.

This is what I did:
- go to info view mode
- move a column
- save the view profile by going to settings > configure view profiles
- close konqueror
- open konqueror
- go to settings > load view profile and load the saved profile
- the folder and view mode are restored, but the moved column returned to its default position

Is this the problem or is there more to it?

That's essentially it. Note that some columns are not there by default, unless you are in a particular type of folder, e.g. a folder of mp3s. Perhaps I never want to see "album"; why can't I deselect that in "music" view, and never see it again? I don't think this necessarily should be tied to view profiles, since these are the view *modes*, which span across multiple profiles.

Kubuntu Intrepid doesn't provide these sort of information in the list view (yet anyway).

However it is likely to return in some later release of KDE, please reopen this bug if it should reappear there.
Thank you.
