Bug Description

I installed Ubuntu Onieric a few days ago. Since the first start there is no entry in my Session menu. And I'm missing the menu where I can see my name in the panel.

What information do you need for this bug. I would like to solve this problem and would provide more information when I know what I should do!

This was bug has already been reported here https://bugs.launchpad.net/indicator-session/+bug/831021 several days ago but the developers have not paid attention to it at that time.

Seems to me like the session service has crashed and is not restarted for some reason. Could you check if there is a crash file in /var/crash/ called something like usr_lib_indicator_session_indicator_session_service and if so, could you attach it to this bug.

please open this crash file with double click to report a new bug
report that will have all the required logs about the crash, that
would be of great help.

I did as you want. While I was doing it I saw that the name of the topic, which I was asked to name the new report, already exists ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-session/+bug/824243 ). I found the phrase "Have to log out with CTRL + ALT + Delete as the session menu button no longer displays any entries once it has crashes" in those report , that is why I decided not to create a new separate topic.
If, however, I should start a new topic, let me know.

Are there any news to this bug? Session menu is still missing (it's already missing in the login screen / LightDM screen)
And the crash appears every time I boot into Onieric

This should be fixed with tmrw's update.
Released as part of the 0.3.3.3 (which i don't think made it into the distro yet). Either way it will be uploaded tomorrow at some stage.

Changed in indicator-session:
status: Confirmed → Fix Released
milestone: none → 0.3.4
