Bug Description
Binary package hint: konqueror
Unless otherwise specified, konqueror should load with the user's last view profile in place. There are really two bugs here;
a) the icon in kubuntu ships with a hard wired profile - "web browsing" or similar - tied to the konqueror icon. Since 99% of users are probably going to install firefox anyway and use it as their default web browser, this is user unfriendly.
b) let's say I have a profile for music browsing. If the last thing I do when konqueror is closed is browse music, then konqueror arguably should open in the same view profile. Alternatively there should be an option to specify the "default" accessible from the menu options (there no doubt is one in the configuration files somewhere.)

Thank you for filing this bug.
The konqueror shortcut shipped by default says "web browser" in the description, so I want to point out that it's clear that it will be launched in webbrowsing mode.
For file browsing, there's the places menu.
Are you aware of the "konqueror profiles" kicker applet?
