Launcher appearance when touching left screen edge is annoying

Bug Description
In my experience, many times the Launcher appears when I don't want it.
For instance, when running Firefox maximized, many websites have menus or other interactive content on the left side (and Firefox itself has the "go back" button on the left edge), and I accidentally cause the Launcher to appear when I move the mouse pointer there. This is very annoying, because then I have to move the pointer to the right again and slowly bringing it back to the left.
Also, it's common for applications to have toolbars lying on the left side of their windows.
Interestingly, this bug report seems to state exactly the opposite of bug #810326. Maybe a configure option should be given.
