Information Panel shows play button on pictures

In the information pane, Dolphin shows a 'play' button below the preview of JPEG and BMP files. It doensn't show up for PNG files, as it should be.
See attachment for a screenshot.
That play button should only be there on audio and video files.

When I select an image from another format like BMP, PNG... appears a progress bar for JPEG images.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
-> Open Dolphin.
-> Select any image in png, bmp...
-> Select any jpeg... a progress bar appears in the information panel.

Thanks for the report. Could you please attach a screenshot of the issue? The information panel has no support for a progress-bar.

Sorry. progress-bar maybe don't be correct, 'button preview'... I think :)
The problem happens with jpeg when selected a png picture before.
Other formats like bmp, gif, tiff, don't cause this... I'm sending a
snapshot, I hope this help.

If you mean that the preview gets grey: This is intended. It should indicate the user that the old preview is outdated and that the new preview could not be generated within a short time.

This might be an issue in Phonon, which coincidently recognizes JPG-images as Phonon-files. Could you please check which phonon-packages you've installed or let us know which distribution you are using?

openSUSE 11.3 + KDE 4.6.00 r381
kernel 2.6.34-12-default
libphonon4 -> 4.4.4-58.1
phonon -> 4.4.4-58.1
phonon-backend-gstreamer-0_10 -> 4.4.4-10.1
phonon-backend-xine -> 4.4.4-8.1

SuSE 11.3 comes default with KDE 4.4.4, updated to 4.5.3 and now 4.6.0.

Oh! Problem solved apparently. I've changed the backend GStreamer to Xine in Phonon Settings, and the problem is gone. :)

Thanks for the detailed info and the update, this is good to know. I'll still leave this issue open as Dolphin should bypass this (I guess from a Phonon point of view it is OK that it can handle images).

* preview still available for image/jpeg
* preview unavailable for video/x-flv

Peter, in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=274497 is described the same problem happening after hovering a video file, then any picture got the preview button.
