Bug Description

Built-in suspend and hibernate doesn't work at all. It worked on previous releases (maverick, natty)

I've tried using uswsusp, and that produces the same errors.

In the dmesg I find the following:

I think this is not duplicate of bug #810020. And I think I have the same problem - when I click on Suspend or Hibernate button just lock screen and nothing else.

I confirm this bug on HP Pavilion dv5 1164er. The function worked perfectly for Natty and Maverick.
After going back from hibernate or suspend I see nothing but a black screen with a blinking text cursor in the top left corner.

I have the same problem on uptodate Xubuntu 11.04 on an Acer Aspire One (160GB HDD model)

Suspend was working fine, then suddenly I get the blank screen, still backlit, and no response from keyboard, only thing I can do is hold down the power button until it powers off. I don't get a suspend first time round either. Problem arises whether I use the logout screen or power button.

Trying to hibernate from logout screen gives me a slightly different outcome, I also get a blinking cursor top left ;)

The frozen task is khubd as with the OP.

This happened previously and I resized my xubuntu partition and swap file (both running in a logical partition) which fixed suspend, but now the problem is back again. May try another resize and see what happens and report back.

I am dual booting with Windows 7
