unable to run update manager 11.04,system just hangs

Ran update in terminal and this msg showed up!

Reading package lists... Error!
E: Encountered a section with no Package: header
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/gb.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_natty_main_binary-i386_Packages
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

[RedSingularity (redsingularity)]

Run:

sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/gb.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_natty_main_binary-i386_Packages

Then try again.

Many thanks, unfortunately it did not work, here is the response to the command

sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/gb.archive.Ubuntu
rm: cannot remove `/var/lib/apt/lists/gb.archive.Ubuntu': No such file or
directory

Any clues??

It looks like you typed the command incorrectly. Copy and paste the command in my first comment into a terminal.
