[fglrx] Unity panels fail to show and cause black squares to appear

Bug Description

starting ubuntu session with lightdm. when unity is started i can not see the panels (but can use them) and all these blask squares appear on screen on places that there is a graphical change - like mouse moving or a text box while typing

when disabling the unity plugin in compiz the black dissappears and return when enabling

let me know what other info is needed

This is happening because you are using some dock at the bottom please disable that dock and the issue won't happen.

that is not the reason, the dock is cairo-dock and i only installed and used
it as a temporary replacement, the problem started before i installed it and
still persists without it

This bug affects me too, I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4650 graphic card.
I don't have any other dock than the Unity one.

The symptoms are exactly the same : when I log in Unity 3D with LightDM, I have a black screen with small rectangles of the regular wallpaper. I can click on the session menu ang logout, but I can't access any other indicator.

Unity 2D session is working perfectly.
