suspend doesn't work after updating to 2.6.32.33, screen just goes black and the fan accelerates

I need to update this bug:

I don't think it actually has to do with the kernel, it is more of a virtualbox issue, seen here: http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/9260

I confirmed this when I reverted beack to 2.6.32-32 and installed virtualbox 4.1, suspend didn't work,

uninstalling virtualbox allows suspend to function properly
