Bug Description

Ubuntu Release: 10.04 LTS - the Lucid Lynx
Firefox Package: 3.6.18+build2+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.2

To reproduce:
1) Start Firefox
2) Go to http://www.google.com
3) Make sure Instant Search and javascript are enabled
4) Search for something (e.g., 'firefox')
5) Scroll down to bottom of page with the search results
6) Click last search result
7) Click the back button to go back to search results

Expected result: You return to the search results page on the scroll position you left it.
Actual result: You return to the top of the search results page instead, so you'll have to scroll back down again.

This is a problem that makes it clumsy to browse. Click link, go back, scroll back down, repeat etc.

I can confirm this using a new profile on 3.6.21 on Lucid. It only seems to occur on Google search pages when Instant Search is enabled. I'm not sure if it's specific to Google or if it occurs on other dynamically generated pages, but I haven't seen it happen anywhere else yet.

This does work as expected with 6.0.1 on Natty.

Couldn't find upstream bug about this issue so closing as invalid as Google Instant Search was discontinued in July 2017.
