I have upgraded to 12.10 and things look all right. I mean, every thing
looks fine; since I am very new to ubuntu cannot tell you more. But if a
bug occurs I will certainly communicate.

At present I have window along with ubuntu. Is there a way to remove
windows without re-installing ubuntu?

If I wanted to eliminate windows and keep Linux I would use partition
managing software and delete the windows partition and make it part of
the Linux partition. Care would have to be taken to be sure you didn't
loose the mbr so computer boots into linux
