Bug Description

It's really quite simple: I upload a file that's meant to be public/shared, and want to paste the link to someone. Currently I have to log in to ubuntu one in the browser to find that link. It'd be *much* more convenient if I could get that link from either nautilus' file properties, the ubuntu one client, or ideally both.

If you right click on the file in Nautilus, there should be a "Copy Public URL" entry in the "Ubuntu One" submenu.

Huh, I didn't see that before! It's also grayed out, on all files and folders I've shared.

As a side note, the "hide ribbon" option does absolutely nothing for me.

Only things that have been Published can have public URLs. And we don't have publishing of folders yet. So that probably explains why it is grayed out when you look at most of your files/folders.

The ribbon hiding issue is bug #657913.

Well, the concept of "published" is a bit unclear in Ubuntu One, I'm afraid. The file I was looking at: a) is marked as published in the web interface, b) has a URL associated in the web interface, and c) people can use that URL to look at the file.

In Nautilus, though, the menu item is grayed out.

See screenshot. Once I select the "publish" option in the menu, I can copy the web link - but as the file is already published for all intents and purposes, that seems like a redundant thing to require.
