Bug Description

UbuntuBeta Monospace font typefase is serfi, so this font is not in Kubuntu's monospace fonts list and I'm unable to set this font as system monospace font

Hello Alex,

Serif/Sans-serif and Monospace/Proportional are not exclusive. The attached PDF hopefully shows that most of the UbuntuBeta Mono is sans-serif; only the thin letters 'ijl1' have serifs to help fill the space.

However, I think this is actually a dup of bug #703998, where something is causing the font to not be detected as a monospace by the extra checking that Konsole is doing. We had nailed that one in one of the earlier alphas; but apologies for the regression. I'll try and add a unit-test to the build process to catch it.

Hello, Paul

It looks that you are right about bug #703998.
Sorry, I'm not very strong at fonts terminology. After I faced a problem as in #703998 I installed FontForge and looked through font properties. There is Typeface parameter under OS/2 tab. It was set to Serif. After I set it to Monospace and re-saved font, I managed to use it in Konsole.
